Community Health and Social Services Network
The Community Health and Social Services Network (CHSSN) is a network of community organizations, resources and public institutions aiming to ensure access to health and social services. CHSSN was formed in 2000 to support Quebec's English-speaking communities in their efforts to promote access to English-language health and social services to redress health status inequalities. The goal of the CHSSN is to contribute to the vitality of English-speaking communities of Quebec by building strategic relationships and partnerships within the health and services system to improve access to services.
Through a series of projects and partnerships that link community and public partners, the CHSSN is working to strengthen networks at the local, regional and provincial level in order to address health determinants, influence public policy and develop services. Begun through the efforts of four founding organizations, the Community Health and Social Services Network now has more than five dozen member organizations and is involved in more than 40 projects and partnerships in the areas of primary health care, community development and population health. CHSSN also organizes conferences and provides online resources including a document center and a Health Resources Library.
