Invitation to Participate in the Community’s Priority-setting Process
The Quebec Community Groups Network (QCGN) has received funding from the Department of Canadian Heritage to undertake a historic priority-setting process for the English-speaking community of Quebec. Community concerns identified during this Forum will inform our partners, namely federal, provincial and municipal governments as well as private stakeholders, in their policy and program development that supports the members of our community.
This fall, 19 consultations were held across the province with community organizations and English-speaking residents to hear their needs and priorities for the future. As we move forward to the next phase of this process, we want you to be involved! You are invited to participate in a two-hour focus group that will undertake the important task of validating the information that has been gathered from our community, namely by identifying a set of key priorities that the English-speaking community as a whole can mobilize around. This entire process will culminate in a province-wide Community Priority Setting Conference to be held in March 2012, where participants will discuss how our priorities can be moved into action and how we can become a more united community.
Focus groups will be organized by region. Depending on your location, a facilitator will attend in person or through video-conference. If a focus group is not organized in your area, you can still be involved in the process by taking part in an online survey which will sum up the results and ask for your feedback on the identified priorities.
If you are interested in participating in a focus group or the online survey, please contact us at strategicprioritiesforum@qcgn.ca. Please include your name, address, postal code, and telephone number. All information received will remain confidential. Please respond by January 13, 2012.
