Neighbours Regional Association of Rouyn-Noranda
Neighbours Regional Association of Rouyn-Noranda is a volunteer-based community organization incorporated in 2003 with the mandate ''to promote and protect the rights of the Anglophone Population of Rouyn-Noranda''. Prior to its incorporation as a full-fledged association in 2003, it was a chapter of Alliance Quebec for more than 15 years. Hence its endeavours with the QCGN stem from the first meetings and creation of the Network.
Neighbours believes in a vital future for its community and serves the English-speaking population of Rouyn-Noranda region through facilitating information-sharing within the English-speaking community. The Regional Association is also a firm defender of the right to access services in English and is committed to strengthening networks within the English and French-speaking population, as well as encouraging community development initiatives. Neighbours also organizes social and cultural events in English and encourages the development of leadership in its community. Throughout the years the QCGN and Canadian Heritage have helped Neighbours fulfill its mandate. As an organization that is responsible for all aspects of a community's life the Association has hosted a number of interesting events over the years ranging from social events to training workshops for the community
