Quebec English Literacy Alliance
The Quebec English Literacy Alliance (QELA) is a network of urban and rural literacy groups, promoting literacy and essential skills training through awareness-building and information-sharing activities. Their focus is the upgrade of essential skills among adults in the community, and – increasingly important – the workplace.
Their mission is to be recognized as the leading bilingual organization in Québec that matches learners, businesses and community groups with literacy programs and tools, including workplace training, for the English-speaking workforce. This will be accomplished with the support of a professional membership that represents multiple facets of adult learning, and through strategic alliances with like-minded associations who recognize the importance of improving essential skills within their domains.
