"Notre Home" Song Video Shoot in Pictures!

Monday, May 21, Montreal United Artists got together early in the morning at Lafontaine Park to produce "Notre Home" videoclip. The song, which aims to unify young Quebecers whatever their language, was commissioned by the QCGN and first heard at the Community Priority Setting Conference that took place in Montreal in March. English-speaking Community Sets Priorities at Conference

Sunday March 25, 2012 – More than 180 members of the English-speaking Community of Quebec from across the province took part in a community priority setting conference this weekend. The Conference concluded with the signing of a declaration that identifies priorities to ensure a vital and sustainable future. They are: Access to services in English; Community Building; Economic Prosperity; Identity and Renewal; Leadership and Representation; as well as Strong Institutions. “The declaration distills these priorities to their very essence to ensure our community sees itself reflected in all of them,” said Noel Burke, chairman of the Priority Setting Steering Committee (PSSC), noting that individuals and organizations can attach themselves to these community-wide concerns when working with government and other partners.

Since September 2011, the Quebec Community Groups Network (QCGN) has undertaken a priority-setting process for the English-speaking community of Quebec that aims to unite our communities in a cohesive and articulate expression of a future in which we are, as a community, vital, vibrant and sustainable.

Leading up to the Community Priority Setting Conference this weekend, the Strategic Priorities Forum consulted the community extensively through 19 consultations, five focus groups and an online survey which received more than 500 replies.

This weekend more than 150 delegates will discuss who to move forward together with a collective set of priorities.

Do you care about the vitality and sustainability of the English-speaking community of Quebec?

The Strategic Priorities Forum is undertaking a survey to validate the results of 19 consultations and five focus groups that were held with the English-speaking community of Quebec this past fall and winter. The goal of the survey is to get your feedback on the priorities that emerged. We also hope to begin mobilizing individuals and community organizations around a common action plan for the future that will influence policy and programs leading to concrete improvements in the lives of all English-speaking Quebecers.

Youth Focus Group Rescheduled!

Please note that the youth focus group scheduled for today, Wednesday February 22 has been changed to next Tuesday February 28 at 4:00 to 6:00p.m. The focus group will take place at the QCGN new offices at 1819 Réné Levesque Blvd. West, Suite 400, Montreal, H3H 2P5.

There are still three spots left. Help us narrow down the priorities for the English-speaking community of Quebec!

Focusing in on the Priorities for Quebec’s English-Speaking Community: Be Part of the Conversation!

The Quebec Community Groups Network has undertaken a priority-setting process for the English-speaking community of Quebec. Nineteen community consultations took place this past fall to hear the community’s needs and priorities for the future.

We have reached the second phase of this process where a series of focus groups will be asked to validate the data collected during the consultations. Participants in focus groups will play a critical role in helping establish the English-speaking community’s top priorities for the next five to 15 years.

Based on an open call for participation, the following dates and locations have been confirmed:

1) Montreal – Thursday, February 9 at 7:00 p.m.
Quebec Community Groups Network boardroom, 1255 University, Suite 1000

2) Morin Heights – Wednesday, February 15 at 2:00 p.m.
Municipal Library, 823 Chemin du Village

3) Sherbrooke – Monday, February 20 at 10:00 a.m.
Townshippers’ Association, 100-257 Queen Street, Lennoville

4) Youth Focus Group (Montreal) – Wednesday, February 22 at 3:00 p.m.
Concordia University, School of Extended Learning, 1250 Guy Street, Suite FB 121-11

Focus groups will be made up of 10 to 20 participants and last approximately 2.5 hours.
